About the position(s)
As you read through these requirements, know that we have two open positions—one that is more front end and UI focused, and one that is backend/server side focused. Of course if you don’t have a preference, we are happy to invest in you to get you up to speed in the position you find most compelling.

Responsibilities:
Analyze, innovate, architect, design and develop software for frameworks, core technology components and end user applications
Work with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into a technical design document, and subsequently, actual products
Write code and unit tests to deliver high quality products and technologies
Maintain project timelines and meet all project deadlines
Tackle unfamiliar problems and take the time to discover “best practice” solutions
Work with QA to ensure highest quality for software deliverables; review and contribute to integration and regression test plans

Requirements:

2-7 years of recent experience in hands-on software design and coding
BS/BA/MS/PhD in Computer Science (or a great reason for not having one, and believe us, there are plenty)
Excellent problem solving, creative thinking and self-motivation skills
Analytical and detail oriented
Able to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time
Solid OOP and software design ability; should be able to create designs and write code that meets specified architectural objectives, including reusable, extensible solutions
Strong design and coding experience in backend development, web UI development or both
Knowledge of C++, C#, Java or other object oriented language is essential
Willing to learn new technologies and work in whatever language is needed (we have tools in C, Ruby, PHP, perl, and more)

THE ROLE:

Sociable is seeking our first Quality Assurance Manager/Lead Quality Engineer to establish and execute a highly effective QA function. This is a hands-on role so you should enjoy building the QA infrastructure and executing on the plan. Ideally, you will bring a passion for quality and a well-rounded QA skill set with start-up experience or success building a QA function within an established company.

This position will report to the VP of Engineering.

THE WORK:

• Establish a high performing QA group
• Partner with engineering and product management to ensure that features are designed to be testable

• Build automated integration, stress, performance, and long-haul tests for a complex; high scale multi-tenant SaaS platform that makes use of content distribution networks, multi-level caches and sharded databases.

ABOUT YOU:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent experience & training.
• 5+ years of quality assurance experience testing applications based on Java, J2EE & web applications.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.
• Experience in designing and running stress, load, scalability and performance tests on web applications and backend systems
• Experience with QA processes and tools, test management systems, QA automation, testing cross browser in Javascript, analyzing bug trends, SQL and related topics.

* Expert experience with one or more of the following technologies: Python, C++, Selenium, PHP, Ruby. * Comfortable with various web, client, system development, and release technologies, including Ajax, CSS, Javascript, MySQL, XML, Django, networking protocols, UNIX shells and systems, etc. * Comfortable with various continuous integration technologies and tools, including Ant, TeamCity, Cucumber, xUnit, etc. * Familiarity with implementing test automation in a Scrum oriented software development environment. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent related experience. * 5+ years as a Software Development Engineer in Test, Software Developer, or Quality Assurance engineer. * Software release and configuration management experience. * Proven history of successfully guiding engineering projects.

Jive is a market leader in enterprise software and is expanding its solution to redefine how analytics is delivered for social business software. As a member of the engineering team, you will own the design and development of the web-based front-end component for the analytics solution. The ideal candidate is an exceptional developer and team-player, who will bring relevant experience to the table: UI design with a strong focus on usability and functionality, JavaScript frameworks including JQuery, AJAX & JSON, API design, and consumer-facing product delivery.

Responsibilities:

* Deliver the front-end component of our analytics solution
* Coordinate with a small team of engineers on API design and implementation
* Work closely with the Jive UI team to align analytics with our current product and direction
* Lead the incorporation of new technologies - HTML5, CSS3, graphing & charting libraries
* Ensure UI performance and feature parity across all supported browser versions

Requirements:

* Exceptional Object-oriented JavaScript and problem solving skills
* Proficient in CSS2, raw JavaScript, AJAX, and Web standards
* BS in a technical field or equivalent work experience
* 3+ years experience developing a shipping product
* Passion for bringing valuable products to market
* Self motivated and solution oriented personality
