The box-office supernova, whose last screen appearance was in Seven Pounds, is Tarantino's favourite to star in the spaghetti western, although it's unclear if he has even read the script that has been sent to his reps yet.
According to sources at international distribution meetings QT has been attending, Smith is the director's top choice to play Django, a freed slave who seeks revenge on a plantation owner to save his slave wife.
The Hollywood Reporter mentions a couple of hinderances - the controversial nature of the expletive-laden script, Smith's financials - which could prevent the actor from joining.
If Smith does sign on, this could be a hell of a lot more interesting than the 'safe' fare that he's been associated with for so long now.
The prospect of an A-lister in the lead role is extremely tantalising too, considering what Tarantino did with Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds.
While Christoph Waltz has long been linked to the role of the German bounty hunter who trains Django, Samuel L. Jackson is said to be in talks to play the house slave of Monsieur Calvin Candie, the picture's big bad.
We can't imagine it'll take much to get QT-collaborator Jackson to sign up for Django, even if he is pretty busy with Marvel at the moment.
Django Unchained is expected to shoot in the South in the Autumn.
Will Smith will next be seen in Men in Black III.

No official offer has been made and Tarantino is only arranging meetings, but of course this is big, because Will Smith is a guaranteed worldwide box office draw. Samuel L. When Quentin Tarantino makes a casting wishlist, he sets his sights high. "High" as in one of the biggest box office stars in the world. The writer/director is currently meeting about his upcoming spaghetti Western [1] Django Unchained and people involved in the meetings have revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the director's top choice for the lead role of Django, a freed slave who is trained by a German bounty hunter to save his wife, is none other than Will Smith. The Hollywood Reporter [2] also says that Samuel L. Jackson is circling as role as is Christoph Waltz, who was confirmed by William Morris Endeavor but he himself denied involvement. Jackson's role would be as the head slave of the bad guy, Monsieur Calvin Candie, who would face off with Django and Waltz is being eyed as the bounty hunter, the film's second lead. Smith hasn't been in a major motion picture since 2008's Seven Pounds but is currently filming next summer's [3] Men in Black III and is attached to star alongside his son, Jaden in a sci-fi film written and directed [4] by M. Night Shyamalan. According to The Hollywood Reporter, no formal offer of any kind has been made to Smith but any deal would hinge not only on his attraction to the part but availability and some kind of financial understanding. There's probably no way The Weinstein Company can afford Smith's huge going salary. Then again, working with Tarantino has made every single actor out there cooler, so it seems like dropping that number could be a smart decision for Smith. In fact, Variety has a slightly contrary report [5] that says Smith has already informally be offered the role and that he would definitely be willing to forgo his usual huge salary. They also say that both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio have passed on the project. Can you picture Will Smith starring as a bounty hunting slave, fighting Samuel L. Jackson alongside Christoph Waltz? Me either. But it does sound pretty cool and would almost guarantee that Django Unchained would be Tarantino's biggest box office success yet. "The evidence did not support charging Cage with a crime," the New Orleans District Attorney told

Cage
taunted the police before they took him into custody in the early hours of April 16. He repeatedly refused their requests to go home, asking, "Why don't you just arrest me?" The officers eventually obliged, and Cage was arrested for disturbing the peace and domestic violence. He spent several hours in jail before Dog the

For most screenwriters, the time-gap between completing a script and having it judged by your audience can be sizable. Not so Quentin Tarantino, who completed his screenplay for upcoming movie Django Unchained on 26 April and earlier this week woke to discover half the blogosphere had already read it. Many sites reprinted the front page, loving completed in QT's own childlike scribble, to prove they had seen the script. Did somebody at the all-day party Tarantino apparently held last week to celebrate its completion nip off and make copies? Or did someone at the Weinstein Company decide to slip a few in the post to key players? No matter: the word on Django Unchained is out there, and it's too late to shoo it back into its box now.
Tarantino has refused to confirm any of the speculation regarding the film, so the below should all be taken with a fairly large dose of salt. Nevertheless, here is what we think we know (thanks mainly to Matt Holmes at Obsessed With Film, who has posted an extensive script review). First, Django Unchained seems to be an homage to Sergio Leone set in the deep south (rather than the old west) which tackles the predictably difficult subject of 19th-century American slavery. The lead character is a black slave-turned-gunslinger named Django.
Second, the film appears to feature a plum role for Christoph Waltz, the Austrian actor whose performance as a dastardly SS colonel in Inglourious Basterds was rewarded with an Oscar last year. The part is that of a German bounty hunter and former dentist named Dr King Schlutz, who teaches Django the art of contract killing before helping him to find his still-enslaved wife. "The part has clearly been written exclusively for Waltz in mind," says Holmes.
Waltz hasn't yet been officially confirmed in the role, but Anne Thompson reports that Tarantino's agency, WME, believes the actor has already been cast. Anyone else get the impression that, in the wake of Basterds, every Tarantino script from here on in is going to feature a conspicuously Teutonic character? Given that he already has to shoehorn Samuel L Jackson into everything he does that doesn't leave the director a whole lot of room for manoeuvre, but at this stage it's hard to blame him: what screenwriter wouldn't be salivating at the prospect of dreaming up dialogue for the actor who delivered his last film's tour-de-force opening?
What of the title? Well, Tarantino seems to be repeating the same trick he pulled with Inglourious Basterds, which borrowed its moniker from a 1978 Italian war film of (nearly) the same name but ignored pretty much everything else. The original Django is a 1966 spaghetti western, directed by Sergio Corbucci and starring Franco Nero as a ruthless gunman. Nero said he's been given a role in the film, but that may well be the only connection – other than that Tarantino will riff off the genre's tropes in much the same way he cheerfully rifled through the "dogs of war" domain last time around.
Ain't It Cool's Harry Knowles tweeted on 3 May: "DJANGO UNCHAINED is an operatic southern… this is my favorite QT script. & I've read them all. This I absolutely love at every level." Not everyone has had the same reaction. Holmes reports that the 166-page screenplay is overlong, self-indulgent and defiantly non-commercial. "There is nothing for Joe Popcorn to cling on to here," he writes. "This isn't a movie that young teenagers/adults, unless they are huge fans of Tarantino, will get off their ass[es] to see in their droves. Tarantino is playing for a niche market here – nobody has really made a movie about race like this for years, and when they did it was never for a mass audience."
It may well be that the Weinsteins are faced with reining in a film-maker whose confidence must be sky-high after the critical and commercial success of Inglourious Basterds – though that in itself is a dangerous game to play. Often, it's when Tarantino appears to be at his most self-indulgent that the magic happens. What producer in his or her right mind would have allowed the director to split Kill Bill into two movies, the second of which is hugely dialogue-heavy and features very little action? And who apart from Tarantino could have got away with turning a bizarre Jewish revenge fantasy about the Nazis into the weirdly workable movie that is Basterds?
Reining in Quentin Tarantino would be like telling Jimi Hendrix to quit with the guitar solos – and yet someone might have to do it. Could that be the secret behind the screenplay's bizarre leaking? After all, if you're determined to win an argument, there's nothing like having a bit of backup.

Although most know Thor from the pages of Marvel comics, as a superhero distinguished by his thunderous hammer and his formidable golden mane – imagine a younger, leaner and more politically correct Dog the Bounty Hunter – the character became legend centuries ago, a central figure in Norse mythology.
This Friday, inspired more by comic-book creator Stan Lee's Superman-like interpretation of the character than by any folk saga, the so-called God of Thunder will swing his mighty stick (no pun intended) on the big screen, courtesy of Kenneth Branagh's sparkling 3-D fantasy. Playing the big lug? Chris Hemsworth (TV's Home and Away), who put on 20 pounds of muscle for the role the old-fashioned way, with chicken breasts, eggs and protein shakes.
Starring opposite Hemsworth is an impressive cast including this year's Best Actress winner Natalie Portman – who denies having any childhood comic-book memories – as his Lois Lane; the gaunt, angular Tom Hiddleston (TV's Wallander, in which Branagh co-starred) as Thor's evil adoptive brother Loki; and, perhaps surprisingly, Sir Anthony Hopkins as their omnipotent father, Odin. Was Hopkins keen to work with Branagh, a fellow Englishman, or did he just have some masochistic need to don Odin's burdensome armor-plated suit?
More the former, says Hopkins, who reserves uncommonly high praise for his director, while aiming teasing barbs at his co-stars, all of whom have gathered in Los Angeles to talk of Thor, Shakespeare and Katherine Hepburn.

On working with Branagh:
AH: "The funny thing was, I hadn’t seen Ken for some years. I wasn’t sure how he would respond to me because I was one of the bad boys who ran away from England many years ago. I came out to Cuckoo Land, you know, out here [in Los Angeles], because I never fitted into British theater and all that. So I wasn’t sure how he’d receive me.
"Maybe I’m overstating it. But I’m 20 years older than Ken, and I didn’t know him that well. But we had all the same reference points of the theater. We knew about the actors we’d been working with over the years. And we were both pretty rebellious. I know he was. I was rebellious in the fact that I was a bad boy. I escaped from England and the group theater, and came over to America to Disneyland. I sold out. I’m glad I’ve sold out.
"Ken’s challenged himself over the years. He did some extraordinary things 30 years ago when he was taking on people like Laurence Olivier, doing Hamlet and Henry V, Much Ado About Nothing. And his education is pretty profound. I read a lot, but I hate taxing my mind with analysis. I cannot talk about acting. I hate talking about it. I hate talking about analyzing.
"It turned out that [Thor] was the most enjoyable film I’ve been involved in for a long time, principally because of the cast here, and Ken. I think I’d gone through a patch where I was getting very indifferent to everything, and I could care less. And then to work with Ken, he just pushed the right buttons to get me to give my best. I really value that in him, because I’d gotten lazy. He’s one of the best directors I’ve worked with and so that was the principle reason [for playing Odin]. And hey, I wanted the work. Gotta pay the rent, you know."

On how Branagh, an actor and sometime director best known for his Shakespearean adaptations, handled doing a Marvel movie:
KB: "The scale of the undertaking couldn’t help but make you feel that it was very, very challenging, but that was part of what was attractive. People sometimes ask me, 'How did you do it?' And I say, 'Have you seen the credits at the end -- there’s seven minutes of them. You see all of those names? That’s how I did it.'
"Frankly, when you walk in Day One and there’s a green screen, real mist and rain, the six principals in their new costumes for the first time, and four camera crews and hundreds of people, [you wonder] what to do next. Should I go to visual effects? Should I go to 3-D – all the places I don’t know? And [then I knew] – find Thor! So we did."

On casting Hemsworth, a relative unknown, to carry a blockbuster:
KB: "Chris came in early on and I think that we [as filmmakers] weren’t fully on the page with what we were developing for him. We became pretty ambitious with what was clearly going to be a character journey, a character who changed from the beginning of the movie to the end, so we realized it wouldn’t only rely on brawn. Iit would need some sort of acting brains and some emotion and some fun.
"At some point we said, 'Well, we should go back and meet that very handsome Australian lad who came in when our story wasn’t really on the page.' And when [Chris] came back, he did workshops and read with the actors. Then one day he nailed it. He told a story about Thor’s deeds like a warrior retelling some story of a great battle, with the kind of arrogance that he needed to have, but with such charm. That was it. And then, you know, when he takes his shirt off, there’s also a wow factor that cannot be denied."

On Hemsworth's connection with the God of Thunder:
"I started with the comic books. I didn’t read all of them – there are thousands, 40 or 50 years’ worth – but I certainly read enough to get a sense of who he was and the world he was from. I read some things on Norse mythology and this sort of fatalistic view they have that everything’s preordained. That leads the Vikings into this fearless attitude in battle and with their lives.
"That spoke volumes to me about Thor. So you sort of fill your head with whatever information and research you have. But on set, it was just about making it truthful and finding a simpler way that I could relate to him. Instead of thinking, 'How do I play a powerful god?' it became about scenes between fathers and sons and brothers. You personalize that, and that helps ground the story.
"The most uncomfortable thing was the eating. I didn’t mind so much the working out. I’d never really lifted weights to that capacity beforehand, and it was certainly a whole new sort of education, for a good six months. But I just don’t naturally sit at that weight, so I had to force-feed myself with 20 chicken breasts, rice and steak. That was the most exhausting part, I think, out of the whole film, was the eating. It wasn’t the fun stuff, either. It wasn’t hamburgers and pizza."

On timeless stories of fathers and sons:
KB: "Shakespeare was interested in the lives of the medieval royal families, but he also raided the Roman myths and the Greek myths for the same purpose. And I think Stan Lee went to the myths that Shakespeare hadn’t used. The connection, if there is one, is that the stakes are high. So in something like Henry IV or Henry V, [where] a reckless man falls into bad company – could that prince be the king? Is he the right man for the job?
"There it’s Europe and England in power, and [in Thor] it’s the universe. When his family has problems, everybody else is affected, so when Thor throws a fit and is yelling at his father and is banished, suddenly worlds are unstable. If the actors take those stakes seriously, the story is passionate, very intense. And I suppose that kind of an observation of ordinary frailties in people – although they’re gods – is an obsession of great storytellers including Shakespeare and including the Marvel universe."

On working with Hopkins:
TH: "Tony was amazing. I haven’t actually said this on record, but [during] our days working together, he would just regale us with stories of when he was a young actor and starting out in The Lion in Winter with Peter O’Toole and Katherine Hepburn. I’ll never forget that story [he] told about Katherine Hepburn saying, 'Stop acting, Tony. You’ve got a good face. You’ve got a good voice. You’ve got a good body. Stop acting.'
AH: "She said, 'May I talk like your mama?' And I said, 'Yeah.' She says, 'Don’t act, you don’t need to act. Watch Spencer Tracy.' It was good advice."
TH: "And actually, then, then we did a scene where Loki finds the big, dark secret of his personal history. After the first couple of takes, Tony leaned across and said, 'Have you got a good agent?' I said yes. And he said, 'You’re going to need it.'"

ABC scores the inevitable post-OBL interview with Gary Faulkner, the Colorado man who achieved international notoriety last year when he was arrested by Pakistani authorities trying to cross the Afghan border armed with only a samurai sword on a religious inspired quest to kill the al Qaeda leader. Faulkner response to the news is basically, "I loosened it":
"I had a major hand and play in this wonderful thing, getting him out of the mountains and down to the valleys... Someone had to get him out of there. That's where I came in," Gary Faulkner of Greeley, Colorado, told ABC News. "I scared the squirrel out of his hole, he popped his head up and he got capped.
"I'm proud of our boys, I'm very proud of our government... They were handed this opportunity on a platter from myself," he said.[...]
Faulkner dismisses U.S. officials who said bin Laden was believed to have lived in the compound for as many as six years.
"He hadn't been living there for no damn six years," Faulkner said. "I absolutely flushed him out."
While Faulkner says his quest was never about the money, he does feel he's entitled to part of the $25 million reward for bin Laden's capture.
Samurai warriors aside, it appears likely that no one will get the bounty since bin Laden was caught through a mix of intelligence gathering and info given up by prisoners in U.S. custody rather than a tip-off.
Perhaps future fortune seekers can set their sights on Ayman al-Zawahiri. According to WikiLeaks cables, his most recent known residence was "a good place owned by a simple old man.”

More Details Revealed About Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’
Posted on Monday, May 2nd, 2011 by Germain Lussier
Friday afternoon, a Hollywood insider tweeted a photo of the cover page to the long rumored Quentin Tarantino spaghetti western script. The title on the page, seen above, was Django Unchained and the reveal set off a slew of news about Tarantino’s next directorial effort. Our original story was updated with some information but, being as most of it happened over the weekend and we’re talking about the next movie by Quentin Tarantino for God’s sake, we figured it was time for a big update: what’s confirmed, what’s the status of the project, what’s it about, a quote from Tarantino and more.
The news originally broke on Twitter and was followed by us seconds after HitFix got to it. The flood gates then opened up.
Anne Thompson confirmed that Django Unchained was indeed the title and that, despite rumors of several people attached, the only actor confirmed is Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar working with Tarantino in Inglourious Basterds. Tarantino’s agency confirmed the plot line as follows:
It’s a western whose lead character is a former slave who is in league with Waltz to save his wife from an evil plantation owner.
That goes along with a plot description Shadow and Act picked up from a commenter over on Hollywood Elsewhere:
Django is a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (Christopher Waltz) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner. And that doesn’t even half begin to cover it! This film deals with racism as I’ve rarely seen it handled in a Hollywood film. While it’s 100 percent pure popcorn and revenge flick, it is pure genius in the way it takes on the evil slave owning south. Think of what he did with the Nazis in Inglorious and you’ll get a sense of what he’s doing with slave owners and slave overseers in this one.
The Playlist then dug up an older quote from Tarantino’s where he was obviously talking about Django Unchained, we just didn’t know it at the time:
I’d like to do a Western. But rather than set it in Texas, have it in slavery times. With that subject that everybody is afraid to deal with. Let’s shine that light on ourselves. You could do a ponderous history lesson of slaves escaping on the Underground Railroad. Or, you could make a movie that would be exciting. Do it as an adventure. A spaghetti Western that takes place during that time. And I would call it ‘A Southern.’.. I want to do movies that deal with America’s horrible past with slavery and stuff but do them like spaghetti westerns, not like big issue movies. I want to do them like they’re genre films, but they deal with everything that America has never dealt with because it’s ashamed of it, and other countries don’t really deal with because they don’t feel they have the right to.
Deadline reports the project, which will be distributed domestically by The Weinstein Company, is “moving very quickly” with several studios, including Warner Bros., Paramount and Sony, all interested distributing the film internationally. Depending on cast availability, it could shoot as soon as late summer. Tarantino is also expected to have his way with casting.
That’s a whole lot to digest and we haven’t even touched upon the history of the Django character, the other films he’s appeared in, been referenced in and more. Hitfix has a great rundown of that stuff (my favorite quote: “It’s no accident that Boba Fett’s dad is named Jango in the “Star Wars” prequels.”) and you can watch the original 1966 Django on Netflix Watch Instantly right now. Suffice to say, there will be much more to say about Tarantino’s latest in the coming months.

After exploring Nazi Germany in 2009's 'Inglorious Basterds,' Quentin Tarantino is taking on another touchy historical subject in his forthcoming spaghetti western-esque film, 'Django Unchained.' This time, slavery and American racism get the director's special treatment.
While the film hasn't begun production yet, Tarantino has submitted a draft of the script to the Weinstein Company. Early reports say that Christoph Waltz, who won the best supporting actor Oscar for his role in 'Inglourious Basterds,' has been cast as a German
bounty hunter who helps former slave Django rescue his slave wife from an evil plantation owner.
The original 'Django' was made by filmmaker Sergio Corbucci, and was a 1960s spaghetti Western series revolving around the title character.
There is still no word on who will play the lead role in Tarantino's version, but according to
'Shadow and Act,' the film will explore racism and its relationship to slavery. In fact, Tarantino has never shied away from tackling films related to race. In 1997, he released the film 'Jackie Brown,' starring Pam Grier and Samuel L. Jackson, which was Tarantino's take on the controversial blaxploitation film era.

Wonder what
Quentin Tarantino has been working on since
'Inglourious Basterds'? There had been rumors about a number of projects, including a redo of 'Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!', but it turns out that now that he has successfully tackled the war-film genre, he's going after the spaghetti Western.
Anne Thompson at indieWire's
Thompson on Hollywood confirmed through Tarantino's agency, WME, that the director has turned in a script for a Western titled 'Django Unchained' that he will direct for the Weinstein Co. The title pays homage to the Sergio Corbucci 1966 spaghetti Western 'Django' and director Takashi Miike's 2007 'Sukiyaki Western Django,' in which Tarantino had a small role.

The story involves a German
bounty hunter who joins up with a former slave -- Django -- to save his wife from an evil plantation owner.
Christoph Waltz (an Oscar-winner for 'Basterds') has been confirmed as the
bounty hunter; the original star of 'Django,' Franco Nero, has said he is attached, along with Keith Carradine and Treat Williams, though that has yet to be confirmed.

His forthcoming spaghetti western, set to star Christoph Waltz, will be called Django Unchained.
The title was first announced when a mysterious photo of the first page of the script was posted on Twitter, and it was later verified by Tarantino's agency via IndieWire (all helpfully compiled via Slashfilm).
The film is said to homage 1966 spag-west Django (in which a gunslinger is caught in a feud between the Ku Klux Klan and Mexican bandits), as well as Takashi Miike's Sukiyaki Western Django.
Franco Nero, who's said to be up for a role in Unchained, starred in the original Django.
Slashfilm also reproduced a mildly spoilerific synopsis from a source who claims to have read the script:
"Django is a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (played by Christopher Waltz, the evil Nazi officer in Inglourious Basterds) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner."
The revenge flick apparently deals with racism in a fascinating and unique way.
Sounds like perfect Tarantino material, and the Inglourious Basterds parallels make it all the more tantalising.
There's currently no indication of when this could be ready for release, but we're hoping Tarantino gets a move on, as this sounds too-damned-exciting to wait for...

[1] UPDATE: Anne Thompson at IndieWire has confirmed that this is indeed the title. Original article follows, more details and a plot description at the bottom. We've heard rumblings about about Quentin Tarantino's next movie for a while now. It's a spaghetti western [2]. It'll star Christoph Waltz [3]. Franco Nero, Keith Carradine might be in it. Uma Thurman called it "a southern [4]." But up until now, we still had no idea what it was called. Then, Friday on Twitter, someone tweeted a photo of what looks to be the title page of the script [5]. Is this the actual script and what's the title? You're gonna have to click the jump to find out. A Twitter user named @AgentTrainee [6] tweeted the following picture earlier today: [7] Django Unchained Is that the title? It certainly looks like it. We know from Inglourious Basterds that Tarantino likes to hand write the titles on the first page of his script. Plus, there's the classic 1966 spaghetti western called Django that starred Franco Nero. The same Franco Nero who was rumored to be in this movie. Here's the plot description of that original film from the IMDB [8]: A coffin-dragging gunslinger enters a town caught between two feuding factions, the KKK and a gang of Mexican Bandits, and is caught up in a struggle against them. Is Tarantino's film some sort of homage to that, much like the original Inglorious Basterds? With the Nero connection, I'd bank on it. So, what do you think of this title? Thanks to Twitter user @FuMikeChu [9] for the heads up. UPDATE: Anne Thompson has confirmed with Tarantino's agency [10] that Django Unchained is, indeed, the title of the new film. She also points us to Tarantino.info [11] which says the film is inspired not only by Django, but Takashi Miike’s Sukiyaki Western Django as well. Indiewire also claims to have read the script [12] and provide the following description. Beware of minor spoilers: Django is a freed slave, who, under the tutelage of a German bounty hunter (played by Christopher Waltz the evil Nazi officer in Inglorious Basterds) becomes a bad-ass bounty hunter himself, and after assisting Waltz in taking down some bad guys for profit, is helped by Waltz in tracking down his slave wife and liberating her from an evil plantation owner. And that doesn’t even half begin to cover it! This film deals with racism as I’ve rarely seen it handled in a Hollywood film. [1] With just one month to go before the unveiling of the new Star Tours ride at Disneyland and Disney World, Disney has put out a new press release that reveals a few more tidbits about the revamped attraction. For those who have no idea what a Star Tours is, it's a popular ride that takes guests on a tour through the Star Wars universe, via a simulation. Or it was, until Disney shut it down last year to work on this new version. We were already aware that the new attraction, officially called Star Tours: The Adventure Continues would feature 3D effects, variable storylines [2], some new characters [3] and classic locations [4], and that C-3PO would be the one flying the ship. Now Disney has offered up new details on what C-3PO (voiced by Anthony Daniels), R2-D2, droid pilot Ace, and spokesbot Aly San San (voiced by Allison Janney) will be doing during the ride -- including an explanation as to how C-3PO ends up in the pilot's seat. Read on after the jump. Here it is, straight from the press release [5]: Entering the attraction queue area, Star Tours guests walk into a bustling spaceport. The famed Star Wars droid duo, C-3PO and R2-D2, greet them as the Starspeeder 1000 is prepped for service. Anthony Daniels, the voice of C-3PO and the only actor to appear in every theatrical chapter of the Star Wars Saga, reprises his role as the golden protocol droid. Daniels worked with Walt Disney Imagineering to record new dialogue for the attraction. Guests also are introduced to AC-38, a hotshot droid pilot known simply as “Ace,” and Aly San San (voiced by actress Allison Janney), the “spokesbot” for the spaceport. After winding through the spaceport, guests board the Starspeeder 1000 spacecraft and prepare for Star Tours Flight #1401. Through a series of mishaps, however, C-3PO finds himself in the pilot’s seat instead of Ace, and it’s up to him and R2-D2 to navigate their passengers through the galaxy. However, the tyrannical Empire is out to stop the Starspeeder at all costs. C-3PO and R2-D2 take the controls and try to outwit and outrun the Imperial forces and a galactic bounty hunter hired to pursue the spaceship and its passengers. Star Tours: The Adventure Continues will open June 3 at Disneyland and May 20 at Walt Disney World. Discuss: Are you willing to wait in long-ass lines to be among the first to try out the new ride, or are you going to bide your time and wait until crowds have died down a bit next year? I'm definitely in the latter camp. Prey's former protagonist, Tommy, this isn't the straightforward sequel you may have expected from Human Head Studios.
The hands-off demonstration at Bethesda's BFG 2011 event emerged from a downed airplane on an alien world. From there, you -- playing as US Air Marshall Killian Samuels -- begin a frantic battle with strange aliens amid the wreckage of his plane, using only your standard issue pistol. After you're knocked out by one of the aliens, the preview jumps forward a few years to a point where Killian is a talented
bounty hunter in an open, alien city. In an interesting turn of events, neither you nor Killian have any idea of what transpired during the interim. Killian is aware of his profession and has retained his skills, but beyond that it's up to you to piece together the missing years.

Events surrounding Nicolas Cage's arrest and release are rolling out in that only-in-Hollywood way -- which is rather delightful, given that events went down in New Orleans.
