ErrorCode<ERRCA0017>:SubStatus<ES0009>:There is a temporary failure. Please retry later. (The request failed, because you exceeded quota limits for this hour. If you experience this often, upgrade your subscription to a higher one). Additional Information : Throttling due to resource : <Resource>
Azure AppFabric Caches come with quota limits. Quota limits are mentioned here.
In case the <Resource> in the exception you get is:
1. Bandwidth or Transactions: This means that you are actually in need of a bigger cache since your cache usage is pretty huge. (or need to re-architecture the app so that it uses less bandwidth & does fewer transactions)
2. Connections : This might point to a bug in your code or erraneous setting in DataCacheConfiguration. Lets take the example of 128 MB cache. The allowed connection count is 5. For you to exceed this count, following are the possibilities:
a. DataCacheFactoryConfiguration.MaxConnectionToServer is set to value of more than 5 : In this case, whenever you instantiate a DataCache object from a unique DataCacheFactory, your DataCache is going to open more than 5 connections to Azure AppFabric Cache service. That would mean that you are exceeding the allowed count.
Solution: Try setting the value to 1 and try again.
b. Several instances of DataCaches created from different DataCacheFactory: If in your code you are initializing several DataCacheFactories and do a GetDefaultCache() from each one of them, then each instance of DataCache you create is going to have it's own connections to the Azure cache service.
Solution: Create only a single instance DataCacheFactory in your code and re-use it as much as possible. If you really need to have several instances of DataCacheFactories, please ensure to Dispose() them off, once they are not needed.
c. Several instances of application running with Windows Azure: It might also be a case that your application has several instances deployed and each one of them is using the same cache. In such a case you are exhausting the connections since each instance is creating connections to Azure cache service.
Solution: Upgrade your cache subscription.
If none of the above is a symptom for you and you still get the error mentioned in the title, feel free to post back. I'll be glad to help out.

System.Threadin.Tasks.Datalow.dll.
-
AsyncCtpLibrary_Phone.dll и AsyncCtpLibrary_Silverlight.dll теперь полностью поддерживают задания.
-

Well folks I'm back. I've been busy working on a whole slew of things around MSDN and TechNet including these blogs, our TechNet Wiki and our central profile system. Well folks I'm back. I've been busy working on a whole slew of things around MSDN and TechNet including these blogs, our TechNet Wiki and our central profile system. You may have noticed if you've viewed your profile lately that we are in the process of introducing a new MSDN/TechNet/Expression technical profile and recognition system. We are working towards ensuring all you actively do across our properties of applications and sites is recognized and you are rewarded for your involvement. But more on that in another post later...
For now, I wanted to drop a quick line to talk about the blog platform upgrade we did last week. We made the move from Telligent Community Server 5.5 to the 5.6 release. A point release, should be easy eh? :) HA!. If we were using the platform straight out of the box, no customizations, maybe. But when you've got a whole bunch of dependencies, integrations, customizations, features that people forget about, 10,000+ blogs and the end of a long, dark, cold and rainy winter, well it takes some work. So I gotta say a big thanks to the team here who work with me on the blogs. John, Justin, Claire, Cindy, Sakthi, Sukesh, Sankar, Pam; well you guys just rock. Thanks for putting in the hours getting this release in place. Big thanks to Roger, Brian, Rich and Kelly at Telligent for their on-going support for us as well!
The changes are generally geared toward our blog authors but in the end that also benefits you. Here are some of the changes:
- It's now much easier for our bloggers to incorporate content beyond text and images. Silverlight, JScript examples, TechNet and MSDN Videos and other rich media will work a lot better.
- We also had reports about folks getting stuck in infinite Live ID Login loops. We believe we have this fixed. If you see it, please use the site feedback link on the home page and let us know.
- Prior to this release we would serve RSS feeds either from the database or from the ASP.Net Cache. We now store the RSS in files that are updated within seconds of a blog post being published or changed. This means our Web Servers and DBs are far less taxed than before. RSS traffic represents about 20x our regular page view traffic so this is a huge improvement. As a specific example, while our DB is running about the same CPU levels at peak times, the actual requests per second we are handling has trippled. That's pretty impressive.
- RSS feeds for comments per blog post are available.
In about 6 weeks, the blogs will be releasing again. At that time we will integrate into the new recognition system I mentioned earlier. If a blog author posts an article it'll appear on their profile. If you comment that'll appear on your profile (assuming you log in). There will be other actions and ways to earn recognition points and achievements by being an active member of this community. More information about the new system is available here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/ff395928.aspx
Have a great weekend. I hear the sun might show itself around here! Oh and it's mother's day here in the USA (and Australia where my mum is) - so here's to your mum's! :)

In a continuing effort to make the office both a fun and productive place to work, yesterday was the second annual Gordian Project salsa contest. The contest had 13 different salsas enter with a range of ingredients such as a grape based sweet salsa, one that featured baby shrimp and many with traditional spices. Everyone brought their salsas in the morning and they were left out all day for the office to enjoy and critique to their hearts content. Many, including myself, elected to skip lunch in order to save room for continued judging of which salsa would get our vote. In the afternoon the votes were emailed in, and today the winner was announced and received a gift card. Here are some great pictures from the event.
Now I say all of this to prove the point that their are many great and cheap ways to promote workplace commradery. The business supplied the gift cards for the winners, but the contest was run by the employees and they individually provided the salsas and chips for the competition. Throughout the office during the day you could hear, "I love salsa day, one of the best days of the year", to which I fully agree. There is just something about hanging out with your co workers and arguing over the range of flavors making up a good salsa, that adds another level to the normal work day. Sure a little extra time is spent visiting the salsa room to continue sampling, but in the grand scheme of things your employees can now boast on their Facebooks and to their friends that their workplace had a salsa contest with real prizes. This alone makes your work environment stand out, while at the same time building up a rapport with your employees that you want them to enjoy coming to work. Think about it, what is something you can do with your employees in the next month that would have the same effect?
There are hundreds of ways to do this, but I would encourage you to try out something as simple as a salsa contest today, your employees with thank you for it.
What about you, what does your office do for commradery?

The Gravity Probe functioned using four ultra-precise gyroscopes using spheres machined to within 40 atoms of being perfect spheres. It then pointed at a star named IM Pegasi, and then when the star had sunspots the probe got thrown off. The odyssey of this probe is something every software designer, architect or others should read, this can happen to any project that you initially thought was a no brainer.
Oh sure on my http://blogs.msdn.com/reaserch blog I have been critical of the Mars Climate Probe, but the NASA Gravity Probe B is something to admire.
Starting at Stanford in the early 60s, it took 52 years to get this spacecraft into space. The material science from this experiment was awesome! They used spheres shaped to with 40 ATOMS of perfect roundness. How did they measure that?
The bad news: Space isn’t bent much by Earth, so if you plan on creating a “realistic” gravity slide game, forget about it, but if you don’t worry about the reality (as you shouldn’t) in the game, then go for it.
The experiment confirms, again, that large bodies like the Earth bend space, but not very much from a human point of view. From the NASA report:
The frame-dragging effect should cause the spin axis orientation of an orbiting gyroscope to change in the plane of Earth’s rotation (orthogonal to the orbit plane) by a minuscule angle of 0.014 arcseconds (0.000011 degrees) in a year. This effect has never before been measured directly.
Now that is precision. On the other hand, bending space isn’t the big deal that Star Trek makes out of the idea. Unfortunate.
What is the difference between precision and accuracy?
In software there is the concept of binary accuracy, but I won’t go over it in this blog post.
- How do you make use of the data in your physics classes? Do you need to make corrections in your homework now? No.
- What do you use to reach this type of precision in programming?
-
- In software, you use the data that you get elsewhere, so if the sensor teams gives you data that is bad, you can’t make it better.
But if you want to utilize an idea that can work in a game, but not in real life, here is a picture of the bending of space, keep in mind that the diameter of this circle is quite large to get the bending shown by the Probe B spacecraft.
Here is how a wormhole works, for the Stargate fans. This would be one heck of big wormhole though.

Call deflection is among the most frequent conversations I have with clients. As I've said many times, call deflection is not call avoidance. Rather than ducking customers' inquiries, successful call deflection will save potentially millions of dollars in contact center costs and boost satisfaction among consumers who prefer to be self-reliant.
I've recently come across two examples of simple and effective call deflection tactics that I wanted to share.
Guide customers to the channel you'd like them to select. Overstock does this extremely well. Here is a screen shot from Overstock's Contact Customer Care page. The online retailer offers chat, email and telephone care. Chat is offered first in the list. Consumers are enticed by benefits of Overstock's "fast and friendly" chat -- it is "the most popular option and the quickest way to get service." Further, Overstock provides the wait time for chat -- in this case, less than five seconds -- delivering on the promise of fast. With this information, consumers will not feel herded: They will feel guided.
Put self-service content on your Contact Us page. Some customers will skip self-service and go directly to Contact Us. Consider putting self-service options in their path. eBay does this effectively. While consumers can easily click through to contact the company, there is a variety of self-service options available for those consumers who -- when it's put in their path -- may find what they want in self-service and no longer require live assistance.
I hope this is helpful. If you come across other effective call deflection tactics, I'd love to hear about them, so please comment here or email me directly at dclarkson@forrester.com.

Cloud deployment and delivery architecture offers many opportunities to reduce costs and improve service levels -- sometimes too many for the beleaguered IT team. So how can your IT team identify what cloud components might be considered early opportunities for your infrastructure? Cloud deployment strategies provide on-demand services from a virtualized environment, making the underlying technology transparent to the consumer.

Facebook and Google are both apparently considering acquisition or partnership deals with Skype. Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg reportedly has been in discussions concerning a possible purchase -- a deal that could be worth between $3 billion and $4 billion. A Skype IPO is still considered a possibility during the second half of 2011. The IPO would be expected to raise around $1 billion.

Most of the talk about protecting users' privacy on the Web has centered on preventing the collection of information that would aid companies in creating targeted ad campaigns. I appreciate the efforts of all those people pushing for legislation that would protect me from the annoyance of spam emails and popup ads. But I wish they would expend more time and energy looking for ways to stop data breaches like the Sony debacle.

Više o Global Publisher portalima možete saznati na sesiji Making Money with your Application on Windows Phone sa konferencije MIX 2011.
- APPA Mundi vas informiše o statistikama (broju preuzimanja i zaradi)
